Writing For TV NYC

Most writers break into TV writing by joining the staff of an existing show. To win those jobs, you need two or three great "spec" scripts—perfectly executed episodes of still-current shows. Now and then, a writer breaks in through the more ambitious path of writing a pilot for a new show. We have courses that will guide you in the right direction for both.

TV Writing covers scripted shows: comedies (i.e. The Office, 30 Rock), dramas (i.e. Law and Order, Friday Night Lights), and those shows that draw elements from both (i.e. Entourage, Desperate Housewives).

If you seek to be a TV writer, we’ll show you how to write material of a high enough quality to give you a legitimate shot.
